Elizabeth Colbert Busch, the Democrat running for an open House seat in South Carolina, and sister of faux-conservative comedian Stephen Colbert, is the target of a new political attack ad.

The National Republican Congressional Committee released the ad in the form of a Vine video Friday. The Wall Street Journal reports that the NRCC called the video “the first time a political organization has launched an actual ad on Vine to attack an opponent.”

In fact, the first happened earlier this year, when American Bridge 21st Century made a Vine video attacking Ken Cuccinelli, who is seeking the Republican nomination for governor of Virginia.

The NRCC ad's several seconds of looping video shows black and white images of gloomy faces, with the words “Colbert Busch and the labor unions mean fewer jobs for South Carolina.”

The Charleston-based First district has been represented by a Republican since 1981 and voted 58% for Republican nominee Mitt Romney in the 2012 presidential race. A poll released March 26 by Public Policy Polling, a Democratic firm based in Raleigh, N.C., found Colbert Busch led Sanford 47% to 45% among likely voters.
