Tshepo Cameron Modisane and Thoba Calvin Sithol were married in the town of KwaDukuza. According to Advocate.com the couple wed in front of 200 guests in a ceremony that incorporated traditional African dancing and singing.
In an interview with ENews Channel, the grooms said they were excited to be making history and opened up about the misconception that being gay is contrary to African culture.
"Being gay is as African as being black, so we're part of a culture, we are rooted in our culture, and we're very excited about it," Sithol said.
