Michigan's Spike Albrecht tweets Kate Upton following memorable game performance

Michigan may have lost the NCAA championship Monday night, but Spike Albrecht's moment in the spotlight gave him enough confidence to reach out to supermodel Kate Upton, wearing maize and blue in the stands.

Albrecht, the no-name reserve who managed to score 17 points in the first half of the NCAA final against Louisville, tweeted at the the 20-year-old Sports Illustrated cover model after the game.

The 5-foot-11 freshman from Crown Point, Ind., became an overnight Twitter phenom after his surprise performance stunned Michigan fans (Albrecht averaged less than two points per game this season). He now has more than 27,000 followers.
