Target issued an apology after the label of a plus size dress sold on its online store offended one of its customers.

The Examiner reports, Susan Clemens was browsing through Target.com when she came across a dress that made her really angry. It was a grey, plus-sized garment labeled "Manatee Grey."

"What the. Plus sized women get "Manatee Grey" while standard sizes are "Dark Heather Grey." @Target #notbuyingit," Clemens tweeted at the retail giant.

While Clemens was offended by the use of the word manatee, which is a rather large mammal, to describe a plus size garment, a store official said "Manatee Gray" was a common label for many of their products.

"Manatee Gray is a common color name for many of our products in store and online," Target spokesperson Joshua Jackson said of the incident.

Nevertheless, the store apologized to Clemens via Twitter and said they were looking into fixing the misunderstanding.

"We apologize for this unintentional oversight and never intend to offend our guests. We've heard you, and we're working to fix it ASAP," Target employees posted on the store's Twitter page.

Target ended up removing the offensive label from the dress and now both the regular and plus size versions of the garment are labeled "Dark Heather Grey."
