Emily Marsh, 13, of London, has had to take time off school over an exhausting and serious case of the hiccups.
According to The Sun, Marsh and her family have said they "are willing to try anything" to keep her from hiccuping. Doctors have given Emily an MRI and ultrasound scan, while her family has opted for traditional home remedies like holding her breath and drinking vinegar.
Though doctors say the condition is extremely rare, Emily isn't the only person to have chronic hiccups. American Charles Osborne, who hiccupped for 68 years, holds the Guinness World Record.
Pope Pius XII famously died in 1958 after long periods of hiccups associated with his gastritis.
