Waffle House employee arrested for April Fools' joke

Susan Tinker thought it would be funny to prank police in Hampton, Virginia by reporting a fake robbery at the local Waffle House where she worked. Sadly, her April Fools' joke landed her in the joint.

WTKR reports Tinker, 20, reported a robbery at the restaurant on West Mercury Boulevard at around 6 a.m. Monday. Hampton police sent several canine units and spent hours investigating the incident only to find it never happened.

Tinker told police it had all been an April Fools' joke, but the officers didn't think it was funny and arrested her under one count of falsely summoning police.

In addition to facing the misdemeanor charge, Tinker was fired from her job. A Waffle House spokesperson said the restaurant wold not tolerate this kind of behavior.
