At the Supreme Court Wednesday, justices heard arguments from proponents and opponents of legalizing same-sex marriage over the constitutionality of the Defense of Marriage Act.

The questions by the justices, particularly the four liberal members and swing vote Justice Anthony Kennedy, implied the court was leaning toward striking down the 1996 law.
