Clive Mantle, who plays Greatjon Umber on HBO's "Game of Thrones," was left "shaken and shocked" after a 32-year-old man allegedly bit part of his ear off at a Travelodge Hotel in Newcastle, England on Sunday.

"He is very shaken and shocked by what has happened, you don't expect this kind of thing to happen in a hotel," a rep for Mantle's agent told BBC News.

"The part of the ear that was bitten off was found and sewn back on. Mr Mantle said the police, ambulance and hospital staff were amazing."

According to the BBC, the rep said Mantle was attacked after he asked other hotel guests to lower their noise volume.

The alleged attacker has been charged with wounding with intent.

Mantle, 55, was starring in a touring production of The Ladykillers. The Independent reported that he has left the play because he can't have makeup near his wound.
