Mark Korb awoke Sunday morning to find that a sinkhole had drained the man-made pond in his yard overnight, Sacramento's KCRA reported.
"This looks like the moon," Korb said of the resulting crater. Korb said the sinkhole must have sucked down the pond water incredibly fast, because his previous attempt to drain the pond himself took seven days. Nothing like letting nature take care of it for you.
A local geology professor said the sinkhole was probably caused by mining activity.
