Jon Hamm's private parts deemed too 'distracting' on 'Mad Men' set, report says

Jon Hamm's reputation as a staunch underwear libertarian is blissfully well-documented. But the 42-year-old "Mad Men" star is so well-endowed that the network was forced to ask him to contain himself.

“This season takes place in the 1960s, where the pants are very tight and leave little to the imagination,” a source told the New York Daily News on Wednesday. “Jon’s impressive anatomy is so distracting that they politely insisted on underwear.”

The Daily News adds that staffers have occasionally been tasked with Photoshopping Hamm's "impressive" bulge out of the show's promotional materials.

Though Hamm has apparently made an "inside joke" of his anatomy, the actor's rep called the reports "childish."

"It is ridiculous and not really funny at all. I’d appreciate you taking the high road and not resorting to something childish like this that’s been blogged about 1,000 times."

"Mad Men" returns Sunday, April 7.
