Executive Director Tom Clements of the Colorado Department of Corrections was shot and killed as he answered the door to his home around 8:30 pm Tuesday night. A family member in the house called 911, according to El Paso County Sheriff's Lt. Jeff Kramer.
Search dogs were called to the scene and neighbors are being interviewed. Police have no suspect at this time but say the neighborhood is not in any danger. CBS Denver reported that security has been increased at the governor's mansion and for top government officials.
