Katie Holmes,34, looks great and sounds more open minded than ever in the April issue of Allure magazine.

Having at last finalized her high profile divorce from Tom Cruise, 50, Holmes is clearly ready for a new beginning.

When asked about the possibility of expanding her family, which as of now consists of herself and daughter Suri, 6, the actress said she was "open to it."

The same way, when confronted about rumors that she plans to become an attorney, Holmes's answer hinted at the possibility.

"Well, my brother and father are attorneys, and – we'll see," she said. "I like the practical thinking of attorneys."

After separating from Cruise in 2012, Holmes has taken her focus back to her career and has invested most of her time working on her clothing line, Holmes & Yang, getting involved with Alterna Haircare, a brand she co-owns and represents, and being the face of Bobbi Brown cosmetics.

With so many projects in the works it looks like 2013 will bring Holmes nothing but happiness and success, a bliss that she hopes reaches everyone.

"I hope this is a peaceful year for a lot of people in the world," she told Allure. "When you look back on the last year, there were a lot of tragedies—Hurricane Sandy, the Connecticut shooting. I...I just hope it's a good year for everyone."

Here's a video from her cover shoot with Allure.
