Miley Cyrus took a break from social media last week amid inescapable rumors that she and her fiance, Liam Hemsworth, had broken up. Among the hearsay fueling the break-up gossip was a photo in which the singer is seen out and about without her engagement ring.

Cyrus kept quiet as more and more stories about her ailing engagement were published, but yesterday, she broke her silence when commenting on a friend's tweet who was complaining about having to take off her engagement ring to get it fixed.

"Ugh that's the worst! I just had a similar situation except when it happens to me then everyone says my wedding is off," Cyrus wrote on Lindsay J. Lee's post.

Lee, who is a backup singer for Cyrus, echoed the star's resentment in another post in which she encouraged Cyrus to stay strong in spite the rumors.

"OMG that sucks! people just need to mind their own business ;) I saw first hand how happy u & Liam are don't let them get to u!"

Us Magazine reported Friday that Cyrus and Liam 'are talking' while the actor is in Australia visiting his family.
