March 13 (UPI) -- After undergoing hip surgery last month, Lady Gaga was prompted to travel around in a wheelchair while she recovered. And because Mother Monster can only travel in style she appointed designer Ken Borochov to create her new ride, the New York Post reported.

“I certainly wasn’t expecting that phone call and have never done a wheelchair," Borochov told the post. "But am always up for a challenge and was thrilled to create what I affectionately dubbed the Chariot, a chair fit only for a queen.”

Including 24-karat gold plated handles, Borochov's design is indeed worthy of royalty. The wheelchair features black leather seats, a removable canopy, golden rings and it reclines, E! Online reported.

After suffering a labral tear of the right hip last month, Gaga had to cancel the rest of her Born This Way Ball Tour to undergo surgery.
