An earthquake shook Southern California Monday, according to the U.S. Geological Service.
The temblor occurred at 9:55 a.m. PT in a mountainous area northeast of San Diego, 16 miles south of Palm Desert, California, NBC News noted. The quake had an estimated magnitude of 4.7 on the Richter Scale (earlier reports wrongly stated it as 5.1).
There have been no reports of injuries or damages.
