Miley Cyrus announced Wednesday that she was "taking a break from social media" amid rumors that she and her Australian fiance Liam Hemsworth had broken up.

The singer-actress tweeted that she was "so sick of the lies" that come with living in Los Angeles, on the same day that photographers spotted her out without her massive engagement ring.

"I didn't call off my wedding," the 20-year-old said.

Hemsworth added fuel to breakup rumors when paparazzi caught the "Hunger Games" star leaving an Oscars party with "Mad Men" star January Jones.

A source told People that Cyrus and Hemsworth are working on their problems.

"The wedding is still on. Miley and Liam have had some problems that they are working through. Miley doesn't think it's a big deal. She loves Liam and can't wait to marry him," the source said.

"They have a very strong physical attraction, but have very different personalities and backgrounds. This makes their relationship very complicated," the source added.

Cyrus is currently working on her fourth studio album due out later this year. "Not discussing anything but my music from now on," she tweeted Wednesday.
