Jennifer Lawrence bullied at school

Jennifer Lawrence may be everybody's imaginary best friend now, but it wasn't always that way.

In an interview with the Sun, the Oscar winner reveals she was badly bullied in school.

“I changed schools a lot when I was in elementary school because some girls were mean."

“They were less mean in middle school, because I was doing all right, although this one girl gave me invitations to hand out to her birthday party that I wasn't invited to. But that was fine, I just hocked a loogie on them and threw them in the trash can.”

Lawrence, 22, began pursuing her acting career soon after, convincing her parents to take her to New York to get a talent agent at 14. She graduated high school two years early to pursue her career, and landed her first role, on "The Bill Engvall Show" the next year.

“Don’t worry about the bitches," she said, as to how she got through the tough times. "That could be a good motto, because you come across people like that throughout your life.”
