An Indiana judge stands accused of maintaining a sexual relationship with one of her clients--an prison inmate half her age.

Judge and attorney Lisa Traylor-Wolff, 52, allegedly began a sexual relationship with a 26-year-old man, whom she was appointed to represent, that continued after he was convicted on felony charges and sent to state prison.

Traylor-Wolff continued to represent the client during the appeal.

According to the Indianapolis Star, the state Commission on Judicial Qualifications filed three disciplinary charges against Traylor-Wolff for violating the ethical code of conduct that prohibits a lawyer from engaging in a sexual relationship with a client

“The commission alleges she began a romantic relationship with the client while representing him," the court statement said. "The commission also alleges inappropriate conduct occurred when Traylor-Wolff and the client were in an attorney-client visitation room at the Miami Correctional Facility.”

Traylor-Wolff has 20 days to respond to charges, after which the state Supreme Court will appoint a three-master panel to conduct a public hearing. She could face punishment up to a permanent ban on holding judicial office in Indiana.
