Alfonso Soriano hasn't played for the New York in a decade, but if the Yankees came calling, the 37-year-old outfielder said he'd at least listen to what they have to say.

Soriano, who has manned left field for the Chicago Cubs since 2007, said he expected rumors to surface of a possible trade after New York's Curtis Granderson broke his hand and put himself out of action for at least the first month of the season.

"That's the team that opened the doors for me in the big leagues. It was a long time ago," he said. "I don't know. It happened today I don't know if they want to call or not."

"If they call to me, I have to think about it. I want to think about it. I am 37 years old so I have to think about first and see what's good for me and the team, and my family, too."

Soriano, who has two years left on his $36 million, 8-year contract with the Cubs, has a no-trade clause, meaning he can nix any potential deal. Last season, he blocked a deal that would have sent him to San Francisco.

With Granderson out, and right fielder Nick Swisher signing with the Cleveland Indians, the Yankees are in the market for an outfielder packing slugging power--something Soriano could provide.

Soriano had his best year at the plate in seven years--he hit 32 home runs and drove in 108 RBIs.

But mostly, he wants to make a run at the World Series--and he thinks the Cubs have a shot to do it in 2013.

"The first thing for me is to see the Cubs in the playoffs this year," he said. "So I am not thinking about the other teams.I'm not thinking about getting traded, I just want to play here and make the playoffs and go to the World Series with this team."

"I feel comfortable [in Chicago], so we'll see what happens," he said.
