The "Snow White and the Huntsman" actress, wearing a white Christian Dior Haute Couture gown, was walking the red carpet when the guard fell to the ground outside Hollywood's Dolby Theatre. The actress was one of the few people nearby when the guard went down, and attempted to help him up as someone else called an ambulance.

During the ceremony, previous Best Actress Oscar winner Charlize took part in host Seth MacFarlane's opening skit, dancing with "Magic Mike" star Channing Tatum as MacFarlane sang "The Way You Look Tonight."
