A Massachusetts boy calls 911 to avoid bedtime

A boy from Massachusetts called 911 on his mother because he really, really, didn't want to go to bed.

The Brockton Police Department received an interesting call on Wednesday night from a boy looking to avoid bedtime. According to the police log, a boy a 10-year-old boy called 911 at 8:09 p.m. and told dispatchers "he was calling on his mother because he did not want to go to bed," Enterprise News reported.

Following the boy's request a police officer came to the house and spoke to the boy about when it's appropriate to call 911. In a recent case, a woman was arrested on a misdemeanor charge after she called 911 asking for cigarettes.

No charges were issued against the boy.
