A Michigan man who traveled to Mississippi for a friend's funeral, stopped by a casino and won $7.2 million on a penny-slot machine, the Star Tribune reported.

Tyler Morris of Montague, Mich., won the jackpot around 10 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on Friday at the Palace Casino Resort, after attending his friend's memorial service.

Asked what he thought about the win, Morris said he felt his friend was watching over him and blessed him with the big win.

Morris was playing at the "The Lord of The Rings: The Fellowship" penny-slot machine. The WMS Gaming-manufactured machine's progressive jackpot resets at $200,000.
