Maryland State Police arrested Grammy-nominated rapper 2 Chainz (real name: Tauheed Epps) for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after cops pulled his van over in Easton, Md., Thursday.

"Upon approaching the van, an odor of marijuana was smelled coming from the vehicle," Maryland State Police rep Sgt. Marc Black explained to E! Online. "A probable cause search was executed and a backpack was found with a grinder and trace evidence of marijuana."

Expected to appear in concert at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, 2 Chainz tweeted to his followers shortly after the arrest. "UMES we on the way, dam police f**kn wit a n**** , we fina turnUP," he said.

The 35-year-old rapper also shared an Instagram photo of himself posing with two Maryland police officers at the station. "Locked me up and then Wanted pictures smh," the rapper captioned the photo.

2 Chainz also blamed police for being too harsh with their charges, and seemed to deny that he had any marijuana on him.

Black told the Baltimore Sun that there's "no specific policy, per se" that would prevent the officers from taking the photos, but added that officials were "looking at it administratively to see if anything should be pursued."

But 2 Chainz made it to his show just fine. "Show must go on," he said in an Instagram photo taken at UMES. "Wut a valentines day!!!" he added later.
