House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi will “interview” Stephen Colbert in front of the full House Democratic Caucus at their retreat in Virginia today. Colbert is taping the interview Friday for his Comedy Central show, “The Colbert Report." Pelosi has made past appearances on Colbert's show, and reached out to him before the taxpayer-funded conference.

The comedian's sister, Elizabeth Colbert Bush, is running for U.S. Congress as a Democrat in South Carolina's 1st Congressional District. Stephen is not expected to talk with the press at any point during the retreat. The "surprise guest" interview is closed to all press, as is Bill Clinton's keynote address.

Colbert plays a conservative pundit on his late-night talk and interview show. “We assume this is Stephen Colbert’s attempt at bipartisanship,” joked Pelosi communications director Drew Hammill.
