Shatner originally tweeted at the astronaut with the question "Are you tweeting from space?" This led to Thursday's live video chat between the fictional and real life astronauts.

Hadfield represents the Canadian Space Agency aboard the International Space Station. Shatner asked what it's like to really be in space. Hadfield says he's happy not to be grounded in the "post-shuttle era" thanks to international cooperation.
