666 stamped W-2 leads Walter Slonopas to quit his job

Taxes aren't fun for anyone, but a foreboding number made Walter Slonopas' taxes more stressful than most.

According to USA Today, Slonopas, a 52-year-old born-again Christian quit his maintenance job at Contech Casting LLC in Clarksville, Tennessee when he found the number 666 ominously stamped on his tax form.

"If you accept that number, you sell your soul to the devil," Solopas said.

In popular culture and Christian lore, the number 666 is most often recognized as a sign of the Antichrist.

Slonopas also reported crossing paths with the number when he first started work. On two separate occasions, human resources accidentally assigned him the number 666 to clock in.

He added that he couldn't file his taxes until he received a new, 666-less W-2.

"God is worth more than money," he said.
