Tim McGraw hits the road on 'Two Lanes of Freedom' tour this spring

Tim McGraw announced a May tour for his album Two Lanes of Freedom, out Tuesday. Brantley Gilbert, Love and Theft will appear as supporting acts.

Two Lanes of Freedom is McGraw's first album for Big Machine Records, finally released after years of disputes with his previous label, Curb Records. This April will mark 20 years since the release of his first album, and that month he'll tape a two-hour concert special called ACM Presents: Tim McGraw's Superstar Summer Night, set to air this summer on CBS.

To add to the anniversaries, he's nearly five years sober and feeling good about his career.

McGraw tested the waters last summer with "Truck Yeah," which peaked at No. 10 on USA Today's country airplay chart. Big Machine label head Scott Borchetta said it "completely achieved the goal of screaming, 'New Tim McGraw song, new Tim McGraw album, new Tim McGraw energy.' We took that as a total success."

He's been playing Las Vegas shows with his wife, Faith Hill, and his current single "One of Those Nights" is No. 5 on the country chart, good news for a spring tour.
