Gabby Giffords used handwritten notes for her gun violence testimony [PHOTO]

Former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords wrote out her brief testimony for the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing Wednesday on reducing gun violence.

At her testimony at the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on gun violence Wednesday, former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords posted spoke movingly on the need for Congress to come together to find sensible solutions to continued gun violence.

Following the hearing, the handwritten notes Giffords used to give her statement were posted on the Facebook page for Americans for Responsible Solutions, the organization started by Giffords and her husband Capt. Mark Kelly.

Thank you for inviting me here today.
This is an important conversation.
For our children. For our communities.
For Democrats and Republicans.
Speaking is difficult but I need to say something.
Gun violence is a big problem.
Too many people are dying.
Too many children.
We must do something.
It will be hard.
But the time is now.
You must act.
Be bold. Be courageous.
Americans are counting on you.
