Dr. Phil: Ronaiah Tuiasosopo told me he might be gay [VIDEO]

Now that Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te'o has had his confessional interview with Katie Couric, in which he denied knowing Lennay Kekua didn't exist, its Ronaiah Tuiasosopo's turn to explain his role in the hoax that shocked sports world.

In his two-part interview with Tuiasosopo, Dr. Phil McGraw said the man supposedly behind the Te'o fake girlfriend hoax was "confused" about his sexual identity, and "deeply, romantically in love" with the star athlete.

"I asked him, straight up, was this a romantic relationship with you?" McGraw told "Today." "And he says, 'yes.' I then said, are you then, therefore, gay? He says, 'Well, when you put it that way, yes.' And then, he caught himself and said, 'I am confused.'"

Tuiasosopo, who insisted that he pretended to be Kekua in phone calls to Te'o, said he felt that Te'o and Kekua exchanged real emotions.

"There were many times where Manti and Lennay had broken up, but something would bring them back together, whether it was something going on in his life or in Lennay's life, in this case in my life," Tuiasosopo said.

McGraw's interview with Tuiasosopo will air Thursday and Friday on the "Dr. Phil" show.
