Keri Russell returns to the small screen on Wednesday night starring in FX's latest TV drama, 'The Americans.'

The 1980s KGB spy drama stars Russell and Matthew Rhys as Elizabeth and Phillip Jennings, a pair of Russian sleeper agents living in an arranged marriage in Washington, D.C.

The plot of the story revolves around the tense relationship between the two agents and their interactions with the rest of the world, as no one, not even their children, know their true identities, THR reported.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the show "is as much about an unconventional family as it is about Cold War games." And although they admit that comparisons are dangerous they suggest the FX's show is just as good, if not better than Showtime's 'Homeland.'
