Though Bradley Cooper told the BBC he "would be interested" in playing the disgraced cyclist in Paramount Pictures' planned biopic, the "Silver Linings Playbook" star vehemently denied rumors that he had been cast in the role.

"No," Cooper told Access Hollywood at Sunday night's Screen Actors Guild Awards. "Oh my God, that’s so nuts!”

"I was in Manchester, doing the BBC morning show… I had no idea what [the interviewer] was talking about," Cooper said of the interview. "I didn’t even know that J.J. [Abrams] has the rights, I had no idea."

J.J. Abrams production company, Bad Robot, and Paramount Pictures, co-own the rights to "Cycle of Lies: The Fall of Lance Armstrong," a book proposal by New York Times sports writer Juliet Macur. Abrams, who recently signed on to direct the next "Star Wars" film, told Entertainment Tonight that he and Cooper had exchanged emails about the project.
