Mikel Ruffinelli, a 39-year-old plus-size model living in Los Angeles, has the largest hips in the world, according to the World Record Academy.

Ruffinelli, who weighs 420 pounds and stands five feet four inches tall, has hips with an eight-foot circumference, though her waist measures a comparatively small 40 inches.

“I love my shape and I see no reason to diet because I don’t have health problems,” Ruffinelli told Barcroft Media TV cameras.

"I like to tell people all the time, 'I have a licence to work with heavy equipment,'" Ruffinelli's husband, Reggie Brooks said.

Ruffinelli said big hips run in her family. Her hip size has increased with the birth of each of her four children.
