Though Prince has yet to announce an official album release for 2013, the iconic musician unveiled a spirited, funky new single via his website Tuesday, a follow-up to 2012's "Rock and Roll Love Affair."

The video features the lyrics to "Screwdriver," along with a shaky, neon-colored glimpse of an all-female backing band, rumored to be called 3rdEyeGirl. Prince, who's known for working outside traditional music distribution channels, has performed with the all-girl trio at the Dakota Jazz Club in Minneapolis.

According to The Guardian, a new 3rdEyeGirl Twitter handle and YouTube channel have popped up in recent weeks leaking Prince bootlegs and bearing cryptic messages like "International Art Thief. Everything you think is true. Underground. Soon to be above."

The trio denied any affiliation with the Twitter handle in an interview with The Current Wednesday, stressing that their "untitled" group was still a work in progress.

Another track the group performed with Prince, "Chapter & Verse," appears on the 3rdEyeGirl YouTube page.
