Britain's Prince Harry proved the world he's much more than a party-boy during an interview with the British Press, where he discussed his latest Afghanistan tour, the burdens of being constantly targeted by the media, his relationship with his sister in law, and the Vegas incident.

The 28-year-old Prince, who is third in line to the British throne, will returns home later this week after a 20-week posting at Camp Bastion military base in Helmand with NATO forces. While serving as a gunner on an Apache attack helicopter, the prince killed several Taliban insurgents.

"Yeah, so, lots of people have [killed insurgents during the tour]," the Prince said. "We fire when we have to, take a life to save a life, but essentially we're more of a deterrent than anything else. If there's people trying to do bad stuff to our guys, then we'll take them out of the game, I suppose."

Known in the military as Captain Harry Wales, he began his tour in Afghanistan four months ago, shortly after his nude-billards party in Las Vegas was photographed and went viral on the internet.

"I probably let myself down, I let my family down, I let other people down," he said of the Vegas incident. "But it was probably a classic example of me being too much army, and not enough prince."

The prince blames the media for the way in which the story was presented to the public, and feels he should be entitled to certain amount of privacy in private contexts.

"People weren't looking at it and going, 'He was lettings off steam, it was all understandable now, he was going to Afghanistan.' Well the papers knew I was going to Afghanistan anyway, so he was I was treated from them I don't think is acceptable," he said.

Harry also complained about the way the media tries to portray his relationship to his sister in law, Kate Middleton.

"Obviously I'm thrilled for both of them, It's very exciting and I can wait to be an uncle," he said. "I only hope Katherine gets the necessary protection to allows her as a mother, mother to be to enjoy the privacy that that comes with." Later on adding, "I had a chat with them. I didn't sent a letter of congratulations... how any of the papers think that they know the relationship between myself and my sister in law is quite remarkable, but they're wrong as always... I spoke to my brother and her and they're both very well and very happy obviously."
