If the trailer is any indication, Syfy's "Tasmanian Devils" -- like "Piranhaconda" and "Rage of the Yeti" before it -- looks like one of the most awesomely bad movies we'll see this year.

Directed by Zach Lipovsky, the film stars "The Wonder Years'" Danica McKellar as some kind of gun-wielding Tasmanian Devil expert on hand when the furry Australian marsupials "go wild after the taste of human blood." Olympian Apolo Ohno plays a base jumper who plummets to his death into a nest of hungry Devils.

"The Tasmanian Devil -- it's more than just a cartoon," McKellar's character explains. "The aborigines believed the Tas descended from a horrifying ancient creature ... they would call upon this ancient 'devil' to defend against their enemies."

Sensitive movie-watchers beware, the trailer's pretty gory.

"Tasmanian Devils" airs Saturday, January 19 at 9p.m. ET/PT.
