Anna Kendrick's racy Ryan Gosling tweet gets attention

27-year-old actress Anna Kendrick made waves on social media after a revealing Twitter joke about her, uh, reaction to seeing Ryan Gosling onscreen in "Gangster Squad."

Ugh - NEVER going to a Ryan Gosling movie in a theater again. Apparently masturbating in the back row is still considered "inappropriate"

Kendrick's Twitter admission garnered more than 21,000 retweets since Monday afternoon, leading Hollywood.com's Kelsea Stahler to wonder why it's such a big deal for a famous actress to talk openly about masturbation.

"Can we stop pretending it’s shocking that a woman might be inspired by a handsome movie star, especially if that handsome movie star is someone as universally lusted after as Gosling?," Stahler wrote.

The star of "50/50" and "Pitch Perfect" has a fairly active Twitter account -- Buzzfeed called it "surprisingly funny" back in October. Here's a sampling of her witticisms:
