The world's First Dynamic Tactile Touchscreen was introduced last week at CES 2013 by Tactus, a company based in California.

What makes this tablet so special is a new technology that allows for the typically flat touch screen to turn into a tridimensional keyboard when needed and back into a flat screen soon after.

The lumpy buttons pop up of the tablet thanks to a technology called "Microfluidics," which allows the developers to control the fluid in a dynamic tactile layer that replaces the 'cover glass' of any screen, and controls the physical buttons that are designed to rise up and down from the surface fairly quickly.

If this sounds like something you'd like to own, you can expect to have your very own lumpy tablet by the end of the year.

"We expect to be in production in later 2013, early 2014 in mobile devices," Micah Yairi from Tactus told BBC.

Adding that the technology's use was not limited to tables.

"Ultimately this could be used for game controllers, automobiles, basically any screen, any touchscreen basically could use this," he said.
