Seth MacFarlane slips Hitler joke into Oscar nominations presser [VIDEO]

Seth MacFarlane's Oscar nomination presser received mixed reviews Thursday. Entertainment Weekly called the 39-year-old comedy writer's bit-filled performance "smug" and "condescending," while The Hollywood Reporter thought he proved "right on tone for his fans."

MacFarlane, with actress Emma Stone as his partner-in-crime, carried out the pre-6a.m. nominations announcement with a series of jabs at Hollywood, Harvey Weinstein and the Best Supporting Actor contenders.

He even dropped a reference to Hitler, Germany and the well-received film "Amour": "I read Amour was co-produced by Austria and Germany. The last time Austria and Germany co-produced something, it was Hitler."

In response, social media users readied themselves for what just might turn out to be a very interesting Academy Awards show:
