Because bigger is not necessarily better, YouTube user hippykiller1 took the time to upload this video of the world's shortest escalator. Though the 32.8 inches vertical rise of this moving staircase might not be particularly useful, the length of this Japanese basement escalator earned it a place in the Guinness Book of World Records as the World's Shortest Escalator.

The author of the video called the five-steps-long staircase "a thing of beauty and magnificence," and admitted to have ridden it seven times. To go on this magical ride you just have to travel to Kawasaki, Japan, hop off at Kawasaki's train station, look for More's department store and head to basement B2. The escalator will be near the parking garage.
