Spoilers aren't a joke to passionate television fans who hate it when friends or acquaintances reveal crucial plot developments to shows they haven't finished watching. You can't attend a dinner party or a water-cooler gathering these days without hearing someone block any discussion of last night's television with the socially accepted verbal warning, "spoiler alert."

In a sneak peek from "Portlandia's" new season, Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein mock modern-day anti-spoiler intensity in a dinner party sketch with two friends Doug and Carrie. Watch everyone writhe in agony as their friends reveal spoilers for some of TV's biggest shows, including "The Wire," "Breaking Bad" and "Game of Thrones."

There are spoilers. You've been warned.

"Portlandia" returns to IFC Friday, January 4.
