New Jersey Governor Chris Christie is raging mad at the House Republicans and Speaker John Boehner over Congress's failure to take up a bill to provide relief to victims of Hurricane Sandy.

During a press conference Wednesday, Christie unloaded on Boehner in particular, for playing politics over a natural disaster.

"Last night, the House ... failed that most basic test of public service and they did so with the callous indifference to the people of my state," Christie said. "America deserves better."

Christie accused the House leadership--excepting Majority leader Eric Cantor, whom he had been speaking with Tuesday and Wednesday--of forgetting who and why they serve in Congress.

"Shame on you. Shame on you," he said. "[This] is why the American people hate Congress."

Christie said he has been given no reason for the delay, and that he placed four unanswered phone calls to Boehner Tuesday night.

The Senate has already passed a $60 billion relief package to help New York and New Jersey, which, without a corresponding bill in the House before the new Congress is sworn in Thursday, will disappear and need to be re-passed.
