Actor Charlie Sheen dropped a gay slur at the opening for Epic Bar on the rooftop of the El Ganzo hotel in Cabo San Lucas Friday, in front of a crowd that included Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa. In an attempt to rev up his audience, the 47-year-old former star of "Two and a Half Men" opened by asking, ""How we doing?...Lying bunch of f*****t a**holes, how we doing?"

Sheen later apologized for the remark, but chalked the slur up to a speech impediment.

"I meant no ill will and intended to hurt no one and I apologize if I offended anyone," Sheen told TMZ.

"I meant to say maggot but I have a lisp," Sheen added.
