Dec. 17 (UPI) -- Tim Burton specializes in portraying love at all levels of the dead spectrum, so he's the perfect person to direct The Killers' new video for "Here With Me," in which a young man (Craig Roberts of 2010's "Submarine") falls in love with a mannequin that looks just like Winona Ryder. According to Rolling Stone, Burton and The Killers filmed the video in the iconic British beach town of Blackpool.
Burton explained his inspiration for the video in a note on the band's website:
The first time I saw The Killers perform live was in Blackpool, U.K. shortly after completing work on our first collaboration, the music video for Bones. When I heard the song Here With Me I remembered seeing a wax figure of Winona in Louis Tussaud’s Waxworks in Blackpool. The concept of the video is inspired by the 1935 film Mad Love, starring Peter Lorre, as well as the works of Mario Bava.
