New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz tweeted out his condolences to the family of one of the young victims of the Sandy Hook massacre Sunday ahead of his game against the Atlanta Falcons.

Cruz told ESPN's Josina Anderson that he spoke with the family of 6-year-old Jack Pinto, who was shot and killed when Adam Lanza broke into the elementary school in tiny Newtown, Conn., Friday morning.

Cruz posted photos of his cleats and gloves, inscribed with the messages 'Jack Pinto "My hero",' 'R.I.P. Jack Pinto' and 'Jack Pinto this one is 4 u!'

The Giants all wore decals reading "S.H.E.S" on the backs of their helmets in Sunday's game, which they lost 34-0 to the Falcons.
