"Seen a lot of you lately," "Today" show host is how Matt Lauer chose to begin Wednesday morning's interview with "Les Miserables" star Anne Hathaway. He's referring, of course, to Hathaway's recent red-carpet wardrobe malfunction, in which the 30-year-old actress accidentally flashed her private parts to a horde of eager paparazzi.

"Sorry about that," she replied. "I'd be happy to stay home but -- the film."

But Hathaway also offered this reluctant but savvy sleight of hand:

It was obviously an unfortunate incident. It kind of made me sad on two accounts. One was that I was very sad that we live in an age when someone takes a picture of another person in a vulnerable moment, and rather than delete it, and do the decent thing, sells it. And I'm sorry that we live in a culture that commodifies the sexuality of unwilling participants. Which takes us back to "Les Mis," because that’s what my character is.

Slam dunk, Anne.

"That's one of the most creative turns of a question I've ever heard," Lauer could only respond, before moving on to questions about the film.
