South Korea gave us 2012's most flamboyant, lovable cultural import, the pastel-suit wearing, invisible horse-riding Psy, whose inescapably catchy single, "Gangnam Style," had everyone from Britney Spears to MC Hammer dancing along. But multiple reports have surfaced that Psy rapped violently anti-American lyrics during Korean protest performances in 2002 and 2004.
Mediate says that in 2002, Psy smashed a model American tank to the ground to protest the death of two Korean girls killed by a tank in South Korea. In 2004, protesters blamed the revenge-death of a South Korean missionary by Iraqi Islamists on their country's participation in the U.S.-led Iraq war. During the 2004 protests, Korean artists performed the song, "Dear American," over which Psy rapped the lyrics:
Kill those f***ing Yankees who ordered them to torture
Kill their daughters, mothers, daughters-in-law and fathers
Kill them all slowly and painfully
Buzzfeed found an original version of the song, by N.E.X.T:
