Kid Rock, whose song "Born Free" became a Mitt Romney campaign anthem, attended a White House reception after this year's Kennedy Center Honors awards, and assured CNN that all was well between the country singer and the newly reelected president.

"It was nice. I saw the president tonight. He said, 'I'm still here.' I said, 'No hard feelings,' " Rock told CNN cameras in Washington, D.C.

Though a devoted Romney supporter, often performing at the Republican candidate's campaign rallies, the Michigan Native and "Rebel Soul" singer said it was time to move on.

"You cross your fingers, you try to move forward, you hope for the best," Rock said. "You respect the office of the president of the United States, and the great thing is in four years, we get to choose again."
