U.N. Twitter typo calls for '1-state' solution after Palestine vote

In this case, just one character makes a big difference.

Hours before the United Nations General Assembly voted to upgrade Palestine's status to nonmember observer, the United Nation's official Twitter account accidentally advocated for a "1-state solution" to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

According to CNN, it was more than half an hour before the erroneous tweet was deleted and replaced. U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, of course, supports a two-state solution, the creation of a Palestinian state alongside Israel.

U.N. information officer Nancy Groves, the person responsible for the Twitter handle, said she had scheduled the tweet for 2pm and had been on a conference call before she noticed it.
