Nov. 27 (UPI) -- The Empire State Building is just so now.

Using a new LED lighting system installed over the summer, New York City's iconic structure put on its first-ever light show to two Alicia Keys songs, "Girl on Fire" and "Empire State of Mind." Four Clear Channel radio stations simultaneously broadcast Keys' music to the building's choreographed light dance.

Some videos:

Keys, who flipped the switch that started the show, had this to say about the event:

The Empire State Building has always been a symbol of what’s possible in New York, and all the dreams that can come true in this city that never sleeps. I’m so excited to unveil the new tower lights that are going to illuminate the city below like never before—shining bright with inspiration. As a proud New Yorker, I’m so honored and humbled to be a little part of its history.

The LED lighting system, designed by Philips Color Kinetics, was used to show real-time election results on November 6, but it fully unleashed its potential Monday night in a stunning multi-colored display. According to a release:

The state-of-the-art dynamic lighting system from PCK is unique to ESB and allows customized light capabilities from a palette of over 16 million colors in limitless combinations along with effects previously not possible such as ripples, cross-fades, sparkles, chasers, sweeps, strobes and bursts. In addition to greater control and management of the lighting, the new computerized system will deliver superior light and vibrancy levels in real-time, unlike the previous floodlights.
