Jon Stewart skewers Romney's "gifts" comment

The king of fake news has a slightly different idea of what Obama's magical gift bag of victory handed out to the people.

In his opening segment Thursday night, The Daily Show host Jon Stewart took Mitt Romney to task for blaming his failed bid for the White House on "gifts" President Barack Obama handed out to key groups.

"How on earth did Mitt Romney find out about the extraordinary bag of gifts that we got?" Stewart said, pulling out a giant bag plastered with the ubiquitous Obama "O." "Something for everybody in this!"

The good stuff starts at 2:19, where Stewart proceeds to pull a bag of weed, food stamp cozy and more out of the goodie-bag.

Romney's comments have left him open, not only as the butt of jokes, but to criticism from his own party.

It's unusual for a losing presidential candidate to speak out after the final tallies go against him, but Romney has not only done so--again, during an ostensibly private conversation with supporters--he demonstrated again his penchant for saying what he means in awkward ways.

In a conference call with donors, Romney blamed his loss on "gifts" Obama gave to key demographic groups in his winning electoral coalition, such as free contraceptives, free healthcare and amnesty for the children of illegal immigrants.
